Founded in 1982 by eight downtown churches, Ecumenical Social Ministries (ESM) was created as a collaborative Christian organization serving the emergency assistance needs of low-income and homeless individuals and families in Colorado Springs. ESM provides more than 60,000 services to over 20,000 individuals each year. Our mission is accomplished with a staff of eighteen and approximately 130 volunteers, which keeps overhead costs at 14% of the annual budget.
