Formed in 1984, Westside CARES is an ecumenical and interfaith, nonprofit collaboration of 22 religious fellowships of the west side of El Paso County, united in care and compassion for those in need by providing crisis human services. Westside CARES provides many services to the community, including: food pantries, financial assistance, medical assistance, and the Victory Garden program which teaches families the unique techniques necessary to raise their own vegetables in their backyards. Internships in social media, communications, writing donor materials and newsletters, and research are available.
